Minimum Requirements for being a Financial Services Consultant with Manulife FA in Singapore
- Singaporean or Singapore Permanent Resident
- GCE ‘A’ Level certificate with three H2 passes and two H1 passes; • Or an International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma;
- Or a polytechnic diploma; or equivalent academic qualifications.

Financial Advisor Job Description
Being a financial advisor means to perform roles that focus on financial planning management, which involve communicating with potential clients, acquisition of clients and client acceptance, cash management provision, investments, insurance and retirement advice and sustaining relationships with clients with their financial planning needs. This job includes:
- Constructing personal financial plans for clients to make sure they achieve their financial goals within the planning horizon.
- Developing professional relationships with potential and existing clients built on trust, empathy, credibility and ethical conduct.
- Planning for client’s retirement needs by helping them establish their retirement goals and to analyse their financial situation.
- Recognising the sources of client acquisition and carrying out client acceptance checks and on-boardings of potential clients.
- Reviewing financial plans on a regular basis and engaging the clients to carry out continuous servicing of client accounts.
- Collecting information on clients about their income, expenses, taxes and savings to help analyse their cashflow management.
- Working with clients with basic investment needs to set up their investment profiles.
- Working with clients on their life, health and personal general insurance needs to form their risk profiles.
